Seaweed is a renewable, cellulosic fiber that has its origins in the ocean waters. \u00a0When blended with other cellulosic fibers, it can be used to manufacture woven and knitted fabrics. \u00a0Since ancient times, Chinese medicine has used seaweed to protect the skin, because of its anti-inflammatory qualities. The seaweed is usually combined with the cellulose from the eucalyptus tree during the lyocell production process. This eucalyptus fiber and seaweed blended fiber, when turned into a fabric, is said to contain numerous benefits for human skin. An antibacterial effect can also be achieved in seaweed fiber through the incorporation and activation of the metal ions into the seaweed during the lyocell process. So, in other words, seaweed fiber fabric is a natural antibacterial fabric.<\/p>\n
